Study in contrasts.
At VA Right! Tom White is taking a beating from tea party leaders who take issue with his wrap up post on the VA Senate GOP primary. Read the comment section.
While Radtke campaign supporters attack Tom White for being “part of the problem”, congressional candidate Floyd Bayne posted a “thank you” to those folks who voted for him against Cantor. And then proceeded to call the rest of the electorate “ignorant” for not supporting him:
I was willing and able to accept that ignorance abounded among the voting population then and it was simply a matter of educating those voters. All we had to do was bring the information to them and they would see what the real problems were and they would help us work to correct them. Alas, I was mistaken.
Oh geez, Floyd. [sigh]
On the other side of the spectrum, class act E.W. Jackson said this, when endorsing the victor, George Allen, in the US Senate primary:
Thank you all for your prayers and support, including those who did not vote for me but believed in my potential, encouraged me and gave me your friendship.
There are a lot of men and women who run for office, claiming to be different than those who have come before, who say one thing to get elected, and then start behaving badly once the reigns of power are held firmly inside their palms. Some behave badly when it slips through their fingers. It isn’t just the one that matters.
